Elizabeth Romo – Rabago, MSc.
Founder and Executive Director
Elizabeth is a biologist with a Master’s in Sustainable Energy Development whose connection to land began in childhood on her family’s farm and garden. She expanded her expertise through advanced training in soil biology, permaculture, ecosystem restoration, and extensive coursework with Dr. Elaine’s Soil Food Web School, including certification as a Lab Technician and Microscopy Proficiency.
As the founder of Ciclomanías for over 20 years, she leads regenerative, land‑based programs and consulting services that include microbial soil assessments, compost and extract optimization, waste‑prevention strategies, permaculture design, and ecosystem restoration planning. She also co‑developed the Eco-Guardians Youth Training and Mentorship Program and the First Nations Zero Waste Ambassador Program, supporting Indigenous youth and communities through regenerative gardening, composting, native plant cultivation, and circular‑economy practices. Through Ciclomanías’ holistic approach, combining upcycled art, environmental education, and community‑rooted regenerative solutions; Elizabeth’s work has earned multiple awards recognizing her leadership and commitment to community empowerment as a pathway to ecological regeneration.
Pamela Haggarty

Pamela Haggarty is a seasoned project management consultant specializing in coordinating large interdisciplinary research projects. With a background in community development and adult education, she excels in group facilitation to build capacity for both individuals and communities. Pamela has collaborated with First Nation communities throughout Alberta, using Appreciative Inquiry to understand needs and enhance community capacity. As the Sustainable Communities Team Lead for the First Nations Technical Services Advisory Group (FNTSAG), she has provided environmental and solid waste management technical services and training for nearly a decade. An active member of the National Advisory Committee for the First Nations Solid Waste Management Initiative (2016-2021), she also served on its evaluation advisory committee. Pamela holds a M.Ed. from the University of Alberta and has over 25 years of experience in adult education, specializing in supporting students with disabilities in higher education. As a Panterra Educational and Cultural Training Society Director, her focus has been on investigating and coordinating grant funding and strengthened collaborations with First Nations across Alberta.
William Daniels
(Environmental Educator)
William is a talented youth from Bearspaw First Nation. William is passionate about gardening and connecting with the land. He supports the First Nations Zero Waste Ambassador program for K-12 students and school and community gardens.

Valeria has been involved in sustainability from a very young age, by raising awareness about different environmental and social issues in her home country of Peru. When she moved to Canada in 2016, Valeria went even further and completed her undergraduate of Commerce, with a major in finance from the University of Calgary, while working and volunteering for many grassroots organizations including Ciclomanias. At Ciclomanias, she delivers upcycling, and storytelling workshops for the public, educational institutions, and festivals.
