Zero Waste Ambassador at Home Program
Ciclomanias is a pioneer organization Rethinking waste and contributing to a circular economy. For over ten years it has been able to play an important role in Alberta, particularly upcycling materials and building a culture of environmental awareness while creating green jobs and engaging with local organizations.
It is our pleasure to work this time with Susana Moncada and the Zero Waste Ambassador at Home Program towards Calgary's zero waste initiative and its goal to divert 70% of its waste by 2025.
The Zero Waste Ambassador at Home Program aims to promote a sustainable lifestyle, with a focus on domestic waste management. Its purpose is to equip Varsity Courts Student Family Housing (VCSFH) residents with practical tools and concrete actions they can take to reduce waste, vermicompost or compost organic waste generated at home and upcycle waste into useful and decorative items, contributing towards a circular economy. At the end of the program, the participants will know the importance of a circular economy and how composting and upcycling contribute to this purpose. Also, the participants will be able to reduce their waste and understand that reducing our waste is the most sustainable option. The participants will be able to make the right choices when shopping for more sustainable products, creating their own products at home or supporting local businesses and initiatives such as the Calgary Dollars currency.
We are looking forward to receive the Take Action Grant from the Arusha Centre to make this program a reality and will appreciate our viewers likes to this video.
